We are using Prostar PS-30 model solar voltage regulators connected to 24 nos. 12 V 100 AH AGM type battery at our offshore buoy facility. On 14.02.2023 we have noted abnormal operation of the solar battery bank system feeding the offshore buoy loads. The sequence of events is as follows:
1. The battery bank was found to be discharging for 2 hours in the day despite availability of sunlight. Eventually low battery alarm at DCS alerted us to the situation. For your assessment the Dip switch settings are kept as follows (1-off ,2-on,3-off,4-off,5-on,6-on,7-on,8-off). The trends of battery current & battery voltage are attached in mail.
Upon observing the voltage regulator it was noted that Charging LED status was flashing RED and Battery SOC LED was Solid Green .
3. Upon resetting the controller the Charging LED status was flashing RED and Battery SOC LED was in R-G sequencing.
Upon checking previous current and voltage trends of the battery bank it was found that the issue of battery bank discharging was repeating in 28 day intervals since December 2022.
Is this a normal operation or any abnormality in SVR.
Why the battery current is discharging in boost charging mode. attached reference pics.
